Our First Wine Walk Is A Wet Success
As residents of the Sea Towne Shopping Courtyard here in Newport, Oregon we have the special privilege of participating in the monthly “Wine Walk” that the Champagne Patio hosts. On November 7, 2008 we opened our new office up as a tasting room, had a great time, and met a lot of new people.
For those that are not aware, the Champagne Patio is a restaurant and wine shop also located at the Sea Towne Shopping Courtyard. Each month on the first Friday they hold a “Wine Walk”, in which participating businesses can help to host wine tastings, allowing guests to walk around the entire complex tasting wine and exploring the shops. Not only is it a great way for the other businesses to get foot traffic, but it is a great community event that we are proud to take part in.
It being our first “Wine Walk”, we didn’t really know what to expect. There had been talk amongst ourselves that perhaps we would see as many as 10 people come through to taste some wine, which in doing so would expose them to our office. We prepared documentation about search engine optimization and graphic design in case anyone was interested. Nairne prepared a wonderful cheese plate so that people would have something to munch on. Very worst case scenario, we were going to have a nice night relaxing in the office.
As it turned out, nearly 60 people ended up coming through the office last Friday night, and it was a great time. Not only did we get a lot of compliments on our (very) red walls, but people even decided to hang out and spend time just being in our environment. Considering how much work we put into creating a comfortable space, it meant a lot to all of us that it made people feel comfortable and at home. We even had a few friends stop through, some of which had helped us with the office overhaul and had not seen it since it was completed.
All in all the “Wine Walk” was a great time, and we are glad to be able to participate. For those interested in learning more, we are getting ready to launch the Champagne Patio website in the next couple of weeks. If you haven’t been in to meet Jean and the gang, make a point to stop in and grab some tapas and wine on any Friday nights. It’s a great way to end out the work week!
