Mailchimp Expert Exchange Program

Mailchimp is our preferred email marketing service provider here at Terra Firma Design & Consulting, and they have been rolling out some updates lately that we think are important for people to know about. In addition to releasing a series of new features, they are also about to announce their Expert Exchange Program.

Mailchimp Version 5

We choose Mailchimp as an ESP primarily because they offer the best set of features for email marketing compared to other providers that we have used. And that was before they released version 5 of their service this week. In addition to the slew of great features (and really funny interface) that were already available, they have just added the following new features to make communicating with your customers even easier:

There are many more features in the new update, and so far we have been really pleased with it. It will be interesting to see how the API is going to be updated, and which of these new features we will be available programatically.

Mailchimp Expert Exchange Program

As registered Mailchimp Experts, we are excited about the upcoming Expert Exchange Program that Mailchimp has announced. By finding and using a registered Mailchimp Expert, a customer will be able to get discounts from Mailchimp for up to 50% of their costs. It will work something like this:

  1. You find a Mailchimp Expert and notify Mailchimp that you want to participate in the EEP.
  2. You work with the expert to determine the scope and price of your project.
  3. Upon completion, the expert provides Mailchimp with the paid invoice.
  4. Mailchimp then gives you a 50% discount on your monthly Mailchimp account fee until either a) you have been reimbursed for 50% of your costs for working with the expert, or b) 6 months passes.

This presents a great opportunity for our clients, and for anyone looking to take advantage of the potential of email marketing. In fact, Mailchimp is basically saying that they are willing to pay half of what it costs to get professional help with your email marketing. We couldn’t agree more, and considering how important email will be as a marketing channel in the coming years, if you have not gotten your free Mailchimp account yet, it’s time!
